Common questions

I cleaned some files — how do I get them back?

Open the Trash in your Dock. Everything ClutClean removes goes there, itemized. Right-click any file and choose Put Back to restore it to its original location.

How do I grant or revoke folder access?

ClutClean asks for access with the standard macOS open panel the first time you scan. To review or revoke access later, open ClutClean → Settings — you can remove any granted folder there at any time.

How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new Mac?

Make sure you're signed in to the Mac App Store with the same Apple ID you purchased with, then open ClutClean and choose Restore Purchases on the Pro screen or in Settings. Pro is a one-time purchase and works on all your Macs.

Why doesn't ClutClean support cleaning Safari history?

Sandboxed Mac App Store apps cannot access Safari's data — that's an Apple platform rule, and any app that claims otherwise isn't being honest. ClutClean supports history cleaning for Chrome, Brave, Edge, and Firefox (Pro).

Why is a scan not finding much junk?

ClutClean only scans folders you've granted, and it only reports files that are genuinely safe to review — it never inflates numbers. If your Mac is tidy, the honest answer is a small number. You can grant additional folders in Settings to widen the scan.
