What ClutClean does with your files
ClutClean scans folders on your Mac to find junk files, duplicates, big files, and app leftovers. All of this happens entirely on your device:
- Nothing you scan is ever uploaded, transmitted, or shared. There is no server to send it to.
- ClutClean only reads folders you explicitly grant through the standard macOS open panel. Access is stored as security-scoped bookmarks and can be revoked in the app's Settings at any time.
- Cleaning moves files to the macOS Trash — the app never permanently deletes your files. The only exceptions are two optional, clearly documented Pro maintenance features you must turn on yourself (scheduled Trash cleaning and browser history cleaning).
Data collection
ClutClean's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected", and it is accurate:
- No personal information is collected.
- No usage analytics or telemetry is gathered.
- No identifiers are created or read.
- No data is shared with third parties, because none exists.
Purchases
The optional Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase processed entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store. ClutClean never sees your payment details. Entitlement checks happen on your device via StoreKit.
Sandboxing
ClutClean runs inside the macOS App Sandbox with the minimum possible entitlements: user-selected file access only. It does not request Full Disk Access, does not install helper tools, and does not run anything with elevated privileges.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Since the app collects nothing, changes are unlikely.
